Family Session

Family sessions are usually 45 minute sessions where we work with the family together. At times there may be an individual component if necessary. Initially this time is to learn your family’s story and what help you seek. Then a plan can be developed as to the type of treatment that may be most beneficial. This may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Family Systems Theory, and Dialectic Behavioral Therapy. If it appears medication may be helpful a referral can be made for psychiatry but, this is completely your decision. Your family’s unique situation and response to treatment will dictate the length of treatment. Family sessions are typically weekly but, can be bi-weekly if necessary.
